Guide needed!

The Estonian delegation is in need of little help.

Namely we are looking for a guide who can (literally) show us the way to the gaming site.

Last year we had an excellent guide (once more, thank you) and we would be very grateful to anyone, willing to help us out this year.

***

So, basically, we are offering a free ride from Helsinki to the gaming site (and back - if you don't mind leaving a bit early) for one person and his/her gear. In exchange for live directions (sitting in a car/bus and telling the driver where and when to turn).

We will be arriving in the morning of 4th (Friday) and will depart to the location right away. The meeting place would be Katjanokka terminal. All other details can be discussed privately.

***

So if anyone is willing (or knows someone who would be), please make yourself heard.

My fellow Estonians! I'm going to Ruotsinpyhtää by a car. If you find it helpful, I could drive ahead of you so you wouldn't need to worry about the direction. My plan is to leave early with a couple of friends. At what time will you arrive in Katajanokka?

If you already have a guide, no problem. But if not, send me a private messae so we can discuss this further.

Great to see you in Sotahuuto!

Just in case of losing Kops-Max or an other escort, here are short instructions how to get from Katajanokka to Ruotsinpyhtää:

When leaving harbour, look for signs "Kotka" and "Lahti" and follow them until you exit Helsinki. When these two separate, follow signs "Kotka" (highway number 7) for around 100 km. Around 10 km after town Loviisa there is sign "Ruotsinpyhtää 5" (number might also be 4, not sure and doesn't matter) to your left. Take turn there and drive around 4 km after which you should be able to see signs "SH08" with arrows pointing to the place.

Good hint to know you have driven too far on road number 7 and should turn back is that you cross a great white bridge with a dam and hydroplant on left. It's just after the sign "Ruotsinpyhtää".

Turns out, we are arriving too early (10:30) for Max to help us - so we are still looking.

(Thanks for the instruction Kantti - if we don't find someone, it surely will come in handy.)

Im so sorry I have to work until 3 or 4 pm. I would have gladly come with you, but I believe you want to get to the site as soon as possible. The route shouldn't be too difficult though, as long as you get out of helsinki.

Good to see you again in Sohu!

It ain't even so hard to get out of Helsinki, because signs "Kotka", "Lahti" appear very soon. Not sure tough if they start even from the harbor.

If you cant find anyone, there's a good program i-net based (personally i find it better than google maps) at

www.maporama.com (left top corner shifts language, dont leave it at french :D)

Shows turns, metric distances and road names&numbers.

The address for the program that it wants would be

Koulutie 4

location

Ruotsinpyhtää
